Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where are you located?
Currently I am operating out of a home studio in Salt Lake City, UT.
Q: Who makes your items?
My items are 100% handmade and crocheted by myself only. All styles are original designs, unless otherwise stated.
Q: WHat are your items made of?
All listings have a description of material components for each garment. Common yarns I use are acrylic, cotton, wool, and blends of the aforementioned.
Bralettes and bikini bottoms are made with 100% cotton or a cotton blend of yarn resistant to stretch. They are also lined with swimwear lining for comfort and to maintain decency (prevent show through).
Q: should i wear a bra beneath the crops & bralettes?
All tops are designed to be worn braless and the crochet stitches are tight enough to prevent show through. It is recommended to wear breast petals beneath the crop tops for long wear comfort. If more support is necessary, customization options are available.
Q: Can the bikinis be worn in the water?
My bralettes and bikini bottoms are designed as beachwear and poolside fashion, however they may be worn in the water with proper care. Chlorinated pool water may exacerbate deterioration of the yarn. Limited contact with chlorinated pool water is recommended.
Q: Do the bikinis sag when worn in the water & stretch out over time?
It is the nature of crochet bikinis to stretch out slightly over time with normal wear, and when worn in water the bikini will get slightly heavier due to water absorption. The swimwear lining and the use of mercerized cotton or cotton blend yarns are necessary to combat and prevent sagging to the best of their ability. Some bikini bottoms feature elastic waistbands which are the most resistant to stretch and prevent sag the best.
Q: How do I extend the life of my crochet bikini?
Following the care information on the item listing and tag is the best way to extend the life of your crochet bikini. Hand washing is ideal, but gentle machine wash (not exceeding 30°C/86°F) is allowable. After wash, extract excess water by carefully squeezing (DO NOT WRING) and dry the article on a suitable flat surface.
Avoid abrasive surfaces (such as rocks) when wearing the crochet bikini to prevent thread ripping. Torn crochet stitches cannot be repaired.
Q: How long will it take for my order to arrive?
All items are fully handmade, and the production time varies depending on the item. Processing time is noted at the bottom of the item listing, which entails the production time. Most orders are ready for shipment 14-21 days after payment is received, but they may be shipped sooner upon completion. Items labeled "ready to ship" have already been made and will ship within 1-3 business days.
Shipping is currently either USPS First Class or USPS Priority Mail. International customers are currently only supported through my Etsy Store.
Tracking numbers are available on all domestic orders (both First Class and Priority Mail), and will be provided to customer at shipment time. International customers will be provided tracking and customs numbers on international Priority Mail, and First Class international shipments will be accompanied by a customs number only.
